You are invited to audition for membership in Theatre Group Studio
AUDITION
Audition is open to everyone over 18. Audition
should be a monologue that requires no other actor onstage but the applicant. The monologue should be no longer than two minutes from a classical or modern play. An advance appointment is required.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership at TGS requires a commitment to a weekly workshop where work is critiqued and directed. The principles of the Method are applied.
Members are allowed use of the studio to rehearse their work for weekly workshop.
Members are given first consideration in the casting of all studio productions.
Members pay a monthly fee and they are subject to the rules of the studio.
CASTING
All members are eligible for productions. There is outside casting only if no studio member can fill a
role.
WORKSHOP
Once a week, on Mondays, a three-hour workshop is open to all members.
Time and attention are given to prepared scene work, which is critiqued and directed by Lorinne Vozoff.
Emphasis is placed on technique (objective, problem, and action) as well as the use of improv, emotional memory, imagination, and communion. If time permits, writing exercises that deal with the character's human condition are also incorporated.
